A bulleted list of description could never do justice to this lovely hand-quilted Amish quilt. Originally created in 1993 this work of art was one of the quilts raffled off by the Radio Information Service as part of a fund-raiser. Won by Steve Rock and Denise Elston, it was lovingly stored away and never displayed. This year, the winners have generously donated the quilt back to the RIS to be included in this year's fund-raising auction. The quilt measures 86" X 105" and has a full-length hanging sleeve. The colors of dusty rose, light green, and cream are featured. Inside a blue-ink heart on the back of the quilt is written "Peiced (sic) by Freman Ropp Quilted by Kountry Kreations 1993 Log Cabin Star".As with any hand-crafted item, there are a few imperfections. Upon close inspection, three pin-point discolorations that could be finger-prick blood spots can be seen in one section of the quilt and a slightly bluish discoloration thought to be water-soluble tailor's ink may be seen.The quilt will be on display at our studios during the duration of the auction. Stop by between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday to see the detail of the Amish workmanship. The other items featured on this site will also be on display. You will be able to place your bid(s) online or at our studios.
